2017 ANNUAL MEETING UPDATE: Saturday, January 21st

The ACDGC Annual Meeting in which members elect the Air Capital Disc Golf Club Board was postponed to this Saturday, January 21st due to the threat of unsafe weather conditions. The current board thought it best to err on the side of caution and gave members 24 hours’ notice for the change of plans.

The seven board positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Events Coordinator, Parks Liaison, and Communications Director. Again, This year’s meeting will be on January 21st at the WATER Center in Herman Hill Park, at 1:30 p.m.

The candidates for 2017 are:

President – Jerry Sherwood

Vice President – Marty Hunt

Treasurer – Joe Belsan

Secretary – Nathan Taylor

Parks Liaison – Jehramy Heckman

Communications Director – Brian Thompson

Per the ACDGC By-Laws, members in good standing for a minimum of 3 months prior to the election are eligible to vote and for the election to be valid at least 20% of the active membership as of December 31, 2016, must cast a ballot. That means we must have at least 32 members in good standing casting a vote in this year’s election.

If a member cannot make it to the meeting a completed absentee ballot can be emailed to president@aircapitaldiscgolfclub.org, given to a current board member, or otherwise delivered to the ACDGC Secretary at the Annual meeting. Event’s Coordinator Ben Nispel will take charge of completed ballots left at Ducks.

If the volunteers are approved by the membership to serve as ACDGC Officers for the next year, they are charged to fulfill various leadership, administrative and organizational tasks and roles related to ACDGC sponsored and/or hosted events, the maintenance, improvement and expansion of disc golf facilities in the Greater Wichita Metropolitan Area, and promoting the sport of disc golf to continue growing the sport. At times, they will need additional help. Please answer the call whenever and however you’re able to contribute.
